It's All About the Engines

Mechanical Summary

Before the rest of the website information can be simply understood there must be an understanding about all of the mechanical parts within each cylinder of any vehicle. First, there are cylinder(s) within each engine. The cylinders are where the ignition of fuel takes place, as well as, where the fuel is converted into energy. Within these cylinders, there are pistons which are types of compressors that compress the fuel as well as using the ignited fuel and converting its power to rotational motion. At the top of each cylinder, there are valves. These valves open and let in the fuel/air mixture within the cylinder. The valves on the opposite side open to let out exhaust. At the top of the cylinder is the spark plug which is used to ignite the fuel. Then the force created by the ignition of the fuel jolts the piston to the bottom of the cylinder, thus turning the crankshaft, which is connected to the piston by the piston rod. The crankshaft connects all of the pistons together as well as connecting them to the driveshaft, which turns the wheels. These are the main parts within each cylinder of a normal sized engine.
